Of cardinal hat form, the well painted in shades of yellow, blue and green with a putto striding in a desert landscape within a bianco-sopra-bianco scrollwork border, the everted rim with musical and military trophies en grisaille against a blue ground, the underside undecorated but incised with a collector's mark and the remains of a paper label (broken in six pieces and repaired with staples)--12 7/8 in. (32.7 cm.) diam.
