MEIJI PERIOD (LATE 19TH CENTURY), SIGNED HIGASHIYAMA NOBUTADA AND SEALED NOBUTADA

The baluster vase inlaid in shibuichi, shakudo and copper with gilt accents with a large pheasant and a large hawk flying below wistaria vines with large blossoms and leaves, all in high relief above an inlaid clump of grass and chrysanthemums and a hillock cast in relief on the body of the vase, the body of the vessel finished in a rich brown patina- 13 7/8 in. (35.2 cm.) high, some surface nicks and breaks, some discoloration
