PROBABLY EARLY MUROMACHI PERIOD (14TH CENTURY)
Sugata: with shinogi-zukuri, iori-mune and chu-kissaki; nagasa: 1 shaku, 9 sun, 3 bu (58.6 cm.); sori: saki-zori of 1.2 cm. Jihada: tightly-configured itame with some traces of midare utsuri along the lower omote shinogi and extending towards the mune for almost the whole length. Hamon: suguba in nioi and ko-nie with scattered areas of sunagashi in the omote midsection and with some scattterings of ko-ashi. Boshi: ko-maru with small kaeri. Nakago keitai: osuriage with a dull, brown patina; yasurime: katte-sagari [later]; nakagojiri: kiri-jiri; mekugi-ana: three; mei, mumei.
