The rectangular brass-inlaid case with rounded corners, inlaid reserves and crossbanded stringing, the top opening to an ebony and ivory keyboard with inlaid reserves, two backed by mirrors with foliate tracery centering a string instrument, flanking a central tablet with hand-painted gilt floral garlands and oval with inscription: "Patent Grand, Gibson & Davis New York," on double urn waterleaf-carved pedestals on downswept waterleaf-carved and reeded legs with paw brass castors, joined by a brass-ended and turned and swelled reeded and waterleaf-carved medial rail centering a waterleaf-carved lyre with mirrored back and brass string rods--37 1/4in. high, 71 1/4in. wide, 30 1/4in. deep
