Lot Essay

A water bottle or guglet from this service is illustrated by Howard, Chinese Armorial Porcelain, p. 177, where he explains that it could have been ordered by either William Walker, Doctor of Laws and Judge Advocate, or John Walker, D.D., Dean and Rector of Bocking in Essex and a chaplain to George II. Another Walker guglet was sold at Christie's London, November 4, 1991, lot 32.
