Each with ovoid bowl on spreading foot, bright-cut engraved with a band of foliage, the stem with a circular knop, the body bright-cut engraved with a band of Vitruvian scrolls and foliage with an inscription above and a coat-of-arms and crest below within crossed floral sprays, marked under bases--9½in.(24.2cm.) high

Lot Essay

The inscription reads; A grateful Remembrance to Commodore McDouall for his Attention to the Protection of the Trade and commercial Interest while he Commanded in the North Seas.

The arms are those of McDouall.
