The Buick was one of the original members of the General Motors group, which was founded by W.Durant in 1908. David Buick was born in Scotland in 1855 and was taken to America when he was only two years old, he trained as a machinist, specialising in bathroom plumbing, and sold his business for $100,000 in 1902. He started to build motor-cars but had no great success and William Durant took control. By 1908 Buick himself had very little to say in running affairs, so he departed, leaving only his name behind.

This car was donated to the museum in 1954, by Liston Zander then being described as being in good condition. Unlike many of the cars in the collection, it has sat in storage for the past few years which has caused some decay, particularly with the paint. The upholstery appears original, but it is hardened. The Model F is an ideal car for one and two cylinder car tours or Horseless Carriage Club events.
