A LUSTERED MAIOLICA TWO-HANDLED VASE
DERUTA, CIRCA 1520

Of pear shape with everted rim, side handles and stem foot, painted in blue and lustred in gold on a cream ground, the neck and shoulder a quartieri with scale pattern and dots, the body with a geometric band above gadroons, the foot with concentric bands, the neck with lot label printed '619', the underside of the foot with Lehman collection label 'c 66' (glaze flaws on body, crack from lip to middle of neck) ----- 9¾in. (24.5cm.) high
