HOWARD EHMKE LETTER
A letter of Howard Ehmke dated 12/30/25 in which Ehmke describes the play which was ruled a hit in a game in 1923 following a game in which he pitched a no-hitter. The hit was the only one of the game and if ruled an error would have resulted in Ehmke being credited with two consecutive "No Hitters". Ehmke writes, Everyone including New York players, Boston players, umpires Dineen and Connolly, managers, sport writers and Joe Tinker and John Evers wanted it changed (by the official scorer). The two page letter is on Ehmke's personal stationery bearing his picture.
