Engine: single vertical cylinder, air cooled, side valve, four stroke, 496cc, 13bhp; Gearbox: four speed, seperate unit from engine; Brakes: drum; Suspension: front, coil sprung girder, rear, rigid frame.

The B.S.A. management visited Germany in 1937, returning convinced of impending war. They immediately stepped up production of small arms and motorcycles, producing 500-1,000 M20s per week - a new bike was finished every five minutes. By the end of the war, the M20 made up one third of the total belonging to the War Department and M20 civilian production continued until 1955.

This machine is in reasonable condition and comes with a considerable quantity of related clothing, equipment and literature, including a despatch rider's uniform.
