BERLIN, CIRCA 1780, MAKER'S MARK OF JOACHIM HUBENER

Of shaped arch form, flanked by columns with spiralling grapevine, centering a festival plate in a frame with hinge and latch, the wall plate repousse with scrolls and rocaille and with two Tablets of the Law, surmounted by figures of lions of Judah and a crown, the lower edge suspending three cartouche-form medallions, the center one engraved with inscription ZUR SCHMUCKUNG DER TORA AN DIE SYNAG. GEMEINDE IN TILSIT VON ZIPORA U: A. SALOMON 5621, the crown with a chain for suspension, marked on front, also struck with ?control mark IW script, and with museum accession number F3915--15 1/2 in. (39.4 cm.) high excluding pendants and chain
