HAMILTON, ALEXANDER, Secretary of the Treasury under Washington. Autograph letter signed ("A Hamilton"), to Samuel Hodgdon, Treasury Department, 20 December 1792. One page, folio, two marginal repairs, verso with evidence of old mount. "A warrant has this day issued on the Treasurer in your favor as Attorney for James O'Hara Quarter Master General of the Army of the United States for Eight Thousand and ninety dollars, sixty seven cents, to be applied by you to the purpose of discharging sundry bills of Exchange drawn on the Secretary at War, by John Belli, Deputy Quarter Master General at Lexington, a list of which bills you will find at the foot of this letter." At the bottom is a "List of Draughts" against the government, comprising 15 items.
