THREE KYO SUKASHI TSUBA
EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1700)
The tsuba comprising: a round iron plate pierced with iris and yastsuhashi bridge design, (considerable rust to plate and edge)--7.6cm. h., 7.5cm. w., 5mm. th.; an oval iron plate pierced with tea ceremony utensils with surface carving, some iron bones on rim, (old rim rust)--7.7cm. h., 7.5cm. w., 6.5mm. th.; and an iron plate with rim formed as a bamboo branch, the hitsu areas carved as ginger buds and two tea whisks top and bottom center--8.2cm. h., 8cm. w., 4.5mm. th.
