EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1700-1850)
The iron tsuba comprising: a round plate pierced with waves, dots of brass (Kyo Shoami, circa 1700)--8.2cm., 4.5mm. th.; an oval plate carved in sunken relief with a blossoming plant on face and reverse, signed Kofu ju Masayoshi (Ito school, circa 1850), (some surface rust)--8.9cm. h., 8.4cm. w., 5.5mm. th.; a mokko plate carved with a dragon on both sides, signed Isshinsai Fujiwara (no) Shiro and kao, (Fujiwara Tsunanobu of Kofu, was a pupil of Tanaka Kiyotoshi, circa 1850), (rust and pitting)--8.5cm. h., 8cm. w., 4mm. th.; a round pierced plate with a design of pine trees, signed Tanshu ju Sakamasa saku, (circa 1800), (rusted)--7.9cm. h., 4.5mm. th.; an oval, pierced plate with a rice shaft design, signed Kofu ju Nobutoshi (Edo Ito school, circa 1800)--7cm. h., 5.5mm. th.; an oval plate carved with an old pine tree (in Sunagawa style), signed Gioku (center kanji rusted) ken Hideyuki saku (unrecorded artist, circa 1850)--7.4cm. h., 5.5mm. th.; an oval plate carved with two swallows and gold nunome moon, signed Iffu (unrecorded artist circa 1750, of the Mito Shoami school)--7.9cm. h., 7.5cm. w., 4mm. th.; an oval plate pierced with six abalone shells (in Kinai school style), the rim and edge in gold nunome scroll work--7.3cm. h., 6.9cm. w., 5mm. th.; an oval plate pierced with eggplants and bean plant (rusted), signed Akao--7cm. h., 6mm. th.; a cast plate decorated with pine tree (10)
