Type: 2:115G. 6-line initial opening some books in intertwining red and blue, other 2-6-line initials alternating in red or blue, red paragraph marks and capital strokes. (Occasional light brown staining, light red ink stain on 41/2v-3r, very small hole in first page affecting a few letters.) German vellum over pastepaper boards dyed green, gilt-stamped and with armorial stamp of Ferdinand, Baron Hoffman, on both covers (slightly rubbed), speckled edges. Provenance: early marginal annotations; Ferdinand, Baron Hoffman (1540-1607), with his large bookplate engraved by Lucas Kilian after Matthäus Gundelach, and gilt armorial binding stamp.
