A PAIR OF ORMOLU-MOUNTED MEISSEN FIGURE GROUPS EMBLEMATIC OF AUTUMN
CIRCA 1774, FROM MODELS BY J.J. KÄNDLER AND PETER REINECKE, THE MOUNTS LATER
Each modelled with a central figure of a boy or girl standing atop a pierced column fragment and encircled by three other figures, each holding grapes or vines, baskets of ripe autumnal fruit and flowers, the sides of the circular plinth moulded with drapery swags, the base encircled by a ribbon-tied wreath and raised on a further circular base, the octagonal ormolu plinth applied with heavy swags of fruit and flowers (chips and some restoration)--16½in.
