FLINTLOCK SHOTGUN with rebrowned twist sighted barrels signed in gold on the rib, case-hardened recessed patent breeches each with gold line and platinum-lined touch-hole, engraved tang, signed border engraved flat locks each decorated with a game-bird on the tail and with roller and rainproof pan, figured walnut half-stock (minor repairs), chequered grip, steel mounts retaining some original blueing and including butt-plate and large trigger-guard each engraved with a hound in a landscape, the latter with pineapple finial, silver barrel-bolt escutcheons, and original brass-mounted ramrod: in lined and fitted oak case, probably original, with Dixon embossed copper flask and a Sykes leather shot-belt, by Wattell Clark, London, London proof marks, early 19th Century
