Jérémie Arlaud (1758-1827) was the pupil and younger brother of Louis-Ami Arlaud-Jurine, which explains the signature on the present miniature reading "J. Arlaud Cadet Del. 1782". He specialised in portrait drawings and was obviously influenced by Jean-Baptiste Carvelle.
