Lot Essay

Qur'an sections written by Chinese Muslims show the Far Eastern influence clearly in both the decoration and the script which is derived from naskh. A similar Qur'an section was sold in these Rooms, lot 69, 18 October 1994. There are also two folios from a Chinese Qur'an in the Chester Beatty Library.
