A MEISSEN CYLINDRICAL CHOCOLATE-POT AND COVER painted with harbour scenes, merchants at discussion on quaysides among packages within elaborate cartouches with chocolate and gilt scrolls, foliage and parellel lines, the shoulders with a band of gilt scrollwork and the moulded handle with contemporary turned wood grip, the circular cover similarly decorated and with contemporary rococo gilt metal mounts (minor rubbing to gilding and two slight blemishes to cover), blue crossed swords mark, Pressnummer 23 and gilder's numerals 44. to underside of base, circa 1745
