Spoole-shaped box of cartouche-shaped section, opening on both ends with hinged lids; the cover painted with the forging of Perseus's armour, the base with his death, the front side with the beheading of the snake-haired Gorgon Medusa and the rear side with Pegasus, the winged horse that sprang from the blood of Medusa; the insides of the two lids painted in grey camaïeu with views of buildings -- 73 mm high, minor chips.
