4 volumes, 2° (430 x 300mm). Half-titles with plate-lists on verso, 423 plates including 3 uncoloured and 420 FINE STIPPLE ENGRAVINGS PRINTED IN COLOUR AND FINISHED BY HAND after Poiteau and Turpin. (A few leaves misbound, a few leaves slightly spotted or discoloured, marginal tear to a few leaves.) Contemporary calf-backed boards, spines gilt (scuffed, upper joint to vol.I cracked), uncut, 2 original wrappers (slightly torn) loosely inserted.

A COMPLETE COPY OF ONE OF THE FINEST AND RAREST BOOKS ON FRUIT. These are the plates from Duhamel du Monceau's Traité des Arbres frutiers, nouvelle édition par A. Poiteau et P.F.J.
