Seated on rock-work, the young man wearing a pale-blue coat and striped breeches, leaning towards his companion and adorning her hair with a single pink rose, her straw hat filled with flowers beside him, she looking at her companion with flowers in her apron, on a rocky base (restoration to her left hand and to sheep's left fore-leg, minute chips and small restorations to applied flowers and leaves), blue crossed swords mark, Pressnummer 28, incised A.41., circa 1880
