Count and Countess Eric-George Adelswärd, he with receding grey-powdered hair, wearing a double-breasted blue coat with black velvet collar over a white waistcoat with matching stock, decorated with the green sash of the Royal Swedish Order of Wasa, she with centre-parted curly dark hair, wearing a white dress with blue stole, and an embroidered gauze veil -- 65 mm diam. each, gilt-metal mounts (2)

Lot Essay

Count Erik-George Adelswärd (1751-1810) married Countess Eva-Helena von Fersen (1759-1807) in 1774. A miniature of their son George-Axel, by Augustin, was sold in our London rooms on 19 March 1986, lot 319.
