Lot Essay

Dr. Lucien Boissonnas, in a letter dated April 1995, writes of the present work, a 'view onto the mountains named Rochers de Memise (1677m) bordering Lake Léman above Meillerie as seen from somewhere above the hamlet of Saint-Paul-en-Chablais. The group of peaks appear as they can be seen from Lausanne, on the left of the famous Dent d'Oche. The farm in the foreground is said to be still there.'

To be included in Dr. Lucien Boissonnas' forthcoming catalogue raisonné on Töpffer
