Lot Essay

Prince Louis-Ferdinand of Prussia, born in 1772, a son of Frederick the Great's younger brother Prince Augustus-Frederick of Prussia, was the elder brother of Prince Augustus of Prussia (see lot 104). He is particularly known to have been a talented musician and composer. He was killed during the war against Napoleon, in the battle of Saalfeld Jena, in 1806.
