Charles-Alexander (1712-1780), Duke of Lorraine, son of Duke Leopold of Lorraine, married in 1744 Archduchess Maria-Anna, Maria-Theresia's younger sister who died in the year of the marriage. He also was the brother of Emperor Franz Stefan, Maria-Theresia's consort. A General Governor of the Austrian Netherlands, he later became High Master of the Order of the Teutonic Knights.
