Lot Essay

Robert Miller specialised in engraved publications and what he called "Fancy Articles". The Garland, like the other books in the above lot, typifies one line of business in which he engraved groups of individual subjects which could then be published in book form or issued seperately on cards as "extracts with coloured vignettes for rewards".
