A Dutch Louis XVI satinwood, amaranth, fruitwood and black and gilt-japanned sideboard 'klapbuffet'
Late 18th Century
Crossbanded and banded overall and inlaid with chequerbanded lines, the canted rectangular hinged top with a simulated dentilled rim and two hinged shelves to the reverse, enclosing a removable zinc liner and two hinged shelves, above two frieze drawers and a pair of doors each centred by a panel depicting pagodas in a mountainous landscape, enclosing one shelf, on square tapering legs terminating in brass toupie feet, minor restorations to the veneers, previously with a fountain, the shelves in the interior later
