A Dutch mahogany longcase clock

Inlaid overall with fruitwood lines, the arched hood surmounted by a concave caddy-top with later pierced sound frets to the frieze and sides, with later figural finials, the hood with turned pilasters above an arched trunk door (locked) and a glazed lenticle with gilt-metal rockwork mount, the case with canted angles and on scroll feet, the dial with silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic chapters, the matted and engraved centre with alarm disc, silvered seconds ring, month, weekday and day aperture and with a silvered plaque inscribed Cornelis Uyterweer/en Zoon/Rotterdam, black-painted pierced hands, surmounted by a silvered arch engraved with various figures and with a rolling moonphase, with aperture for strike/not strike inscribed NS/S next to the digit IX (lever lacking), the four pillar movement with anchor escapement and strike on two bells, the trunk door locked
