The brand found on this commode is most likely that of a North European, and probably German, collection that has not yet been identified. For example, see a similar brand FB over a series of numbers found on two commodes and a bureau-cabinet from Schloß Bärenstein (illus. G. Haase, Dresdener Möbel des 18. Jahrhunderts, Leipzig, 1983, cat. no. 23, 47 and 89).
