An early Georgian green and gold lacquer longcase clock, the movement striking on a single bell, with floral-engraved brass dial, the silvered chapter ring enclosing a subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, pierced floral-cast winged putti spandrels to the angles, enclosed by a square glazed door flanked by turned pilasters, the moulded pediment surmounted by a pagoda pediment enclosing a glass panel and flanked by two giltwood ball and flame finials, the case fitted with a rectangular trunk door decorated with typical chinoiserie scenes of figures before pavilions in a landscape, above a three-masted galleon, the box base decorated with peacocks and flowering foliage, the moulded plinth ending in later mahogany bracket feet, restorations, 23ins (236cms) high
