A RARE SILVER-MOUNTED GORGET of gilt-brass, with eyelets and hooks at the top for suspension, of deep crescent shape, flanged at the throat and with turned edges, the front entirely covered with cast, pierced and chased silver scrollwork, flowerheads and foliage involving trophies of arms and armour and framing a large central medallion representing an armoured horseman leaping over prostrate soldiers, all held by silver bolts and nuts (some missing), 17th Century, probably French
