Large 2° (555 x 420mm). 19 coloured plates only (of 20, lacking An Ass Race) and etched 'facsimile of his writing' plate mounted at end. Olive morocco gilt, t.e.g., gilt backstrip and lettering-piece from earlier morocco binding bound-in, by Morrell (extremities scuffed. corners bumped).

'BLAGDON'S MEMOIRS OF GEORGE MORLAND IS AN EXTREMELY SCARCE BOOK' (Tooley). Toady even copies with the late watermark are scarce. Many different engraving processes were used, aquatint, soft-ground etching, stipple and mezzotint. The mezzotints are colour-printed, the others coloured by hand. Abbey Life 208; Tooley 92.
