A FINE PAIR OF GILT-BRONZE CLOISONNE AND CHAMPLEVE ENAMEL ELEPHANTS

Looking with heads lowered slightly to the left and right, the bodies decorated with a creamy-white enamel and short strips of gilt wire simulating hide markings, the lowered trunks looped with a gilt wash in the interior and on the large ears, caparisoned with long multi-coloured bands, a large saddle-cloth decorated in champleve with lotus-sprays within key-fret borders, each saddle set with a ribonned double-gourd vase with da and ji roundels, each standing on a oblong octagonal stand, minor pitting and wax infill
