With rebrowned two-stage twist barrel, the breech section octagonal changing to polygonal and signed in full on the top flat, short scroll engraved case-hardened patent breech with two platinum lines, the nipple screwed into the centre of the hook at the rear, finely engraved case-hardened action with enclosed hammer and sliding cover, the tang engraved 'Patent 123', scroll engraved cocking lever, figured walnut half-stock (fore-end chipped), chequered grip, scroll engraved iron mounts, the bow of the trigger-guard with a spaniel and a partridge, the forward extension of the trigger-plate engraved 'Charles Jones's/Patent Water-proof Locks/with Concentric Sears & Triggers', silver escutcheon and barrel-bolt escutcheons, horn fore-end cap, brass-mounted ramrod, and traces of original finish, Birmingham proof marks
