A CASED PAIR OF 20-BORE ROYAL D.B. PERCUSSION SPORTING GUNS

Rebuilt from flintlock, with rebrowned twist barrels signed on the rib and with silver fore-sight, engraved case-hardened patent breeches, each with pierced platinum plug, scroll engraved tangs, signed scroll engraved case-hardened serial numbered flat locks each with vertical scear, figured walnut half-stocks, chequered grips, cheek-pieces, finely engraved iron mounts retaining traces of original blued finish, silver escutcheons engraved with crowned initials PL, silver barrel-bolt escutcheons, and brass-mounted ramrods: in lined and fitted brass-bound mahogany case originally made for the pair of flintlock guns No. 8082, with accessories, the lid with trade label for circa 1815-20, and with flush-fitting carrying handle and circular escutcheon engraved with the same crowned initials as the guns, London proof marks
