A 20-BORE GERMAN FLINTLOCK SPORTING RIFLE

With swamped octagonal sighted barrel cut with eight grooves and with a band of beadwork at the breech, copper-lined touch-hole, plain tang numbered 7, plain rounded burnished lock with moulded border, moulded figured walnut full stock carved in relief with foliage behind the barrel tang and in front of the cheek-piece, and a stylised shell in front of the trigger-guard (fore-end chipped), polished iron mounts, carved sliding patch-box cover, baluster ramrod-pipe, white horn side-nail washers and fore-end cap, original horn-tipped ramrod, and in very fine condition throughout, the butt with armoury label numbered 21 31 1/8in. barrel
