With four-stage twist sighted barrel with moulded muzzle and incised ornament formerly inlaid with brass, and struck with maker's stamp (lining missing), burnished lock with chiselled mainspring, the fence to the cock and pan each chiselled in relief with berries, fruit, and foliage against a punched ground, figured walnut half-stock carved with rococo scrollwork in low relief, shaped brass mounts engraved with rococo ornament, cheek-piece, turned brass ramrod-pipes, horn fore-end cap, iron sling mounts, and brass-capped ramrod, the butt with copper armoury tag numbered 299
