With rebrowned twist barrels, silver fore-sight, and platinum-lined touch-holes, engraved grooved bright steel tang, signed border engraved flat bevelled locks each engraved with scrollwork on the tail and with roller, rainproof pan, and 'French' cock engraved with a marine monster, figured walnut half-stock carved with flowers and foliage in relief at the barrel tang and in front of the trigger-guard, the grip and fore-end with chevron chequering, the former carved in high relief on the underside with a stag-head with branches of laurel in its mouth, cheek-piece carved with flowers and foliage at the rear, iron mounts engraved with horned masks and foliage, the trigger-guard with a bird on the finial and a sportsman and his dog in a landscape on the bow, the tang of the butt-plate with a dog and a tree and engraved 'No 6', shield-shaped silver escutcheon engraved with initials PF von P with crown above, scalloped silver barrel-bolt escutcheons, iron sling mount (the other missing), baluster ramrod-pipes, and original horn-tipped ramrod
