A FINE CASED PAIR OF 28-BORE SILVER-MOUNTED FLINTLOCK DUELLING PISTOLS

With signed lightly swamped rebrowned twist octagonal sighted barrels, gold-lined touch-holes, finely engraved tangs, signed bevelled detented locks with rollers, safety-catches also locking the steels, and gold-lined semi-rainproof pans, figured walnut full stocks, chequered flat-sided butts, finely engraved silver mounts including trigger-guards with pineapple finial, pierced side-plates chased with rococo designs, cast and chased pommels each with a trophy of arms and a vase of flowers and foliage, silver escutcheons and ramrod-pipes, and horn-tipped ramrods (one incomplete): in associated lined and fitted mahogany case with some accessories, the lid with label of Charles Lancaster, London proof marks, silver maker's mark of Moses Brent
