A FINE CASED PAIR OF 28-BORE D.B. FLINTLOCK CARRIAGE PISTOLS

With signed rebrowned twist barrels with gold line at the breech and gold-lined touch-holes, finely engraved grooved tang, signed case-hardened bevelled locks each with engraved stepped tail, safety-catch, roller, gold-lined pan, pierced and engraved bridle on the inside, and retained by a single screw through the lock-plate, figured walnut half-stocks, hooked butts cut with pineapple chequering apart from a plain strip on each side, engraved blued iron mounts including trigger-guards each with pineapple finial, silver escutcheons, foliate engraved silver barrel-bolt escutcheons, original horn-tipped ramrods, each with worm, and some original finish: in original lined and fitted oak case with accessories including three-way flask covered in red leather, the lid with trade label and carrying handle of Chippendale form, London proof marks
