(Lots 300-310) The following eleven lots come from the collection formed by Joseph Sassoon Sykes, with the advice of the great furniture historian R.W. Symonds. Symonds was involved in the formation of the Percival Griffiths collection, perhaps the best-known of all 20th Century English furniture collections. J.S. Sykes was among Symonds most important clients in the years immediately before 1939 and through Symonds he was able to acquire many things from the Griffiths collection, including lots 302, 304, 305, 306, 308, 309 and 310.
