An Impressed Celadon Stoneware Bowl
Koryo Dynasty (12th Century)
Of conical form rising from a raised, circular foot, impressed in crisp detail on the interior with a frieze of floral arabesques, the peonies and baoxiang-hwa blossoms alternating in opposite directions encircled by scrolling leaves on arching, slender stems, the bowl also moulded in the small cavetto with a chrysanthemum floret and decorated with a blue-green celadon glaze with emerald patches where thick, the surface of the glaze irregular on the underside, base of the foot unglazed
