INDENTFireman R. Webber, a citizen of Exeter, volunteered for service in South Africa. At the termination of their engagement, the volunteers received their medals from H.M. Queen Alexandra, Patroness of the National Fire Brigades' Union, at Earls Court, 1902. Only 42 medals, of which two other examples are known to have survived, are recorded as having been awarded. Fireman Webber was still a member of Exeter City Fire Brigade in the 1940's. His service in South Africa is commemorated by a plaque in Exeter City Guldhall
