FIRST COLLECTED EDITION IN ENGLISH, containing all 31 plays, plus Brécourt's The Ghost of Molière. The plays, with two exceptions, were translated by John Ozell, the most prolific translator of foreign classics of his generation; Le Misanthrope and Le malade imaginaire were translated perhaps by Steele. Ozell first published translations of some of these plays in his now very rare literary periodical, The Monthly Amusement. For this collected edition he added a preface and life, also probably translated from the French, and a long dedication to the Earl of Dorset. (3)
