[1843-45], blank ship's passport in English and Dutch, one page, folio (390 x 273mm), countersigned by A.P. Upshur as Secretary of State, partially mounted on card with: -- James BUCHANAN (1791-1868, 15th President). Document signed as Secretary of State ('James Buchanan'), Washington, 17 August 1848, certifying B.K. Morsell as a Justice of the Peace at Washington, one page, 4to (250 x 194mm), paper seal (mounted by integral blank). -- Alexander BOYD. Autograph letter signed ('Alex.. Boyd') to an unknown addressee ('Honour.
