Agassiz. -- John TYLER (1790-1862, 10th President of the United States). Document signed as President ('J Tyler'), n.p., n.d. [1843-45], blank ship's passport in English and Dutch, one page, folio (390 x 273mm), countersigned by A.P. Upshur as Secretary of State, partially mounted on card with: -- James BUCHANAN (1791-1868, 15th President). Document signed as Secretary of State ('James Buchanan'), Washington, 17 August 1848, certifying B.K. Morsell as a Justice of the Peace at Washington, one page, 4to (250 x 194mm), paper seal (mounted by integral blank). -- Alexander BOYD. Autograph letter signed ('Alex.. Boyd') to an unknown addressee ('Honour. S..'), Perthambay, 17 October 1776, reporting the sighting of enemy shipping at 'Scrosbury' the previous week, and that he had engaged others to keep watch, one page, 4to (235 x 197mm), (slightly browned, integral address leaf mounted, split at fold), all mounted on two cards.
