The silvered dial signed and numbered DENT LONDON Chronometer Maker to the QUEEN, No. 1909, Roman hour numerals, subsidiary seconds and up-and-down dials, gold hands, Earnshaw escapement, Dent's Staple Balance with brass cross-arm carrying the mean time screws, blued steel helical balance spring, spring foot detent with jewelled locking stone, with 'percussion cap' cover to keyhole, brass bowl gimballed in plain three-tier mahogany box the middle section with a Fahrenheit mercury thermometer and on the outside a painted white disc reading DENT 1909, inside the top lid a trade label of EDWARD I. DENT, external brass drop handles
