The rectangular sliding cartonnier with hinged adjustable reading-slope above a dentilled frieze and central panelled door, locked, flanked by a tambour-slide and four graduated drawers to each side and divided by fluted pilaster-strips headed by female caryatids, the rectangular brown leather-lined top above a central frieze drawer, flanked by two slides and above a kneehole with two further hinged reeded compartments divided by further fluted pilaster-strips headed by caryatids and with further tambour-slides and drawers, the reverse with further simulated panelled door, tambour-slides and drawers and with tambour-fronted compartments to the base, on rosette-headed square tapering legs with square sabots
