Lot Essay

2nd Lieutenant Cecil George Bradford Harrison was killed in action on the Somme on 13.8.1916, while serving with the 8th Battalion, Royal Berkshire Regiment. Having arrived on the Somme in the first week of July, the Battalion had seen action at Lozenge Wood, Mametz Wood and elsewhere, prior to 2nd Lieutenant Harrison's death in action on the 13th, when it was occupying positions at Becourt Wood.
